Environmental activist refused to accept Thunberg award, said- no award required

Sweden's 16-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg refused to receive the environmental award on Tuesday. She said that science needs to be heard for the climate movement and not the award. Millions of people participated in the 'Friday for Future' movement of the young climate activist.

She was honored by the Nordic Council in Stockholm for this. Thunberg was nominated for his work in Sweden and Norway and announced the organization's annual Environmental Award.

The Thornburg representative said she would not take the award

According to Sweden's news agency, after the award was announced, a Thanburg representative told the audience that she would not accept the prize or the prize money of 350,000 Danish kronor (about 36,83,000).

Thunberg thanks Council for the award

Thunberg is currently in the US. She wrote on Instagram - No award is needed for the Clement Movement. We need that today's leaders and those in power listen to science. However, she also thanked the Nordic Council for the award. Also said that Nordic countries have a great reputation worldwide on climate and environmental issues. But when it comes to carbon emissions and ecosystems, only boasting is done.
