The issue of abolishing Article 370 and giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir also arose in the European Parliament (EP). According to the news item published in the EP's monthly newspaper on Sunday, India's decision in Parliament got support. EP member Tomas Jakowski called it an internal matter of India, saying that the abolition of Article 370 would help in ending terrorism in Kashmir.

According to the newspaper, Jakowski said that some terrorist organizations are spreading terror in Kashmir Valley and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These armed parties have reportedly been responsible for attacks on individuals associated with political organizations in Jammu and Kashmir. These include the killing of activists of 6 political parties and a separatist leader.

Tomas said that during the local elections in October 2018, the incidents of terrorist attacks were the highest. Here the leaders and those who were participating in the Kashmiri elections were also threatened. Most Pakistani terrorist organizations are operating from PoK.
