US Lawmaker: China 'Blackmailing' India Into Using Huawei For Its 5G infrastructure

US Lawmaker China 'Blackmailing' India Into Using Huawei For Its 5G infrastructure

An influential US lawmaker said on Tuesday that China is blackmailing India to get Huawei to participate in the 5G infrastructure. However, on Tuesday, China hoped that India would take an independent and objective decision regarding Huawei.
The US has banned Huawei, the world's leading and number two smartphone maker in telecom equipment, for security reasons. At the same time, the US is also prohibiting other countries from using Huawei equipment.

US lawmaker Jim Banks said that China is now blackmailing India to give Huawei a place in its 5G infrastructure, they don't know any limits. He said that the Chinese Communist Party wants to monitor and spy on strong countries.

Another US lawmaker, Marsha Blackburn, accused China and Huawei of trying to send their spy technology to the US and allied countries. According to a recent report citing Union Communications Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, India plans to develop its 5G network.

Earlier this week, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that if a country adopts Huawei technology, the US will not give them any information. He said that we will not be able to work with such countries.
