In Nepal, the children will have to deposit the money in their parents' account.

The Government of Nepal is going to take a decisive step to ensure the care of elderly parents. For this, there is a need to make such a law, so that the children must have a fixed portion of their income deposited in the bank account of the elderly parents inevitably.

The spokesperson of the Government of Nepal and the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad said that with the provision in the Cabinet meeting, it has been decided to present a bill in Parliament to amend the Senior Citizen Act, 2006. The objective of this bill is to make the life of senior citizens easier and safer.

He said, "There are many instances where people, despite having assets of millions of rupees, abused their own parents. Do not supervise them. Therefore, we are going to introduce legislation to curb this trend. In the current law, citizens above 60 have been defined as senior citizens. It has also been said to take care of their elderly parents for the children. But for the first time, it is a compulsory preparation to make a law that the child will have to contribute financially to take care of his parents.
